The Power of the Written Word
Welcome to this ninth (and fourth published book) by Write Coach Ireland, Carl J. Ashley. Sending positive vibrations to you from Tipperary!
This book is gold.
Alchemised base metals turned into precious metal, if you will.
Not the product of ‘education’ in the sense of information which has been memorised and regurgitated from some government approved textbook, but education in the sense of what has been gleaned via the lived experience.
Indeed, as I’m sure you might concur, therein lies an important distinction.

Everyone has a story to share. Do you feel the time is right to tell yours?
Storytelling, or scéalaíocht, has deep roots in Irish culture, weaving together personal experience, mythical history, and traditional values. It’s an overlooked but vital aspect of our social fabric.
Have you ever wanted to write your own book but didn’t know where to start?
The idea can feel overwhelming or daunting, and filled with questions and potential roadblocks. Common challenges like self-sabotage, procrastination, and imposter syndrome often stand in the way.
Facing and moving beyond these obstacles is a powerful part of healing through writing. Looking at your experiences honestly, and reflecting with authenticity and accountability, brings clarity and transformation.
Writing your story is more than just putting words on a page; it’s about owning your journey and stepping into personal authority.
Do you have the courage to share your truth?
If the answer is yes, this book is for you.
Write Coach Ireland Carl J. Ashley takes us on a journey of the lived experience of the power of writing to heal, manifesting abundance through changing how we think, shifting limiting beliefs, alchemising our transformative potential and learning how to naturally harness Your Power To Heal Through Writing.
Almost “half a Paddy” fiftysomething Mancunian father-of-four, published author, public speaker, brother, son, partner and healer, Carl J. Ashley is still happily dislocated in rural Ireland, but now based in Tipperary after a few lifetimes in Clare and Limerick.
Having written a few books himself, mostly self-published narrative non-fiction, as the founder of Write Coach Ireland he also now finds he has the privilege of helping other amazing people, around the world, to write to heal and share the story of their journey.
Everyone has a story to share.
When will you tell yours?
"I’ve witnessed Carl walk through some of life’s deepest wounds with such raw courage. I’ve seen him face his own shadows, I’ve seen him do the deep inner work and unravel the emotional layers and emerge more grounded, more open, and more powerful than ever. But what is even more remarkable is not just how far he’s come...it’s how deeply committed he is to helping others rise as well. I’ve seen his love for all of his children. I’ve also seen the heartbreak of having them stolen from him, one by one. I’ve watched him endure the pain of parental alienation, the devastation of narcissistic abuse, and the gut-wrenching moments of being scapegoated, isolated, devalued, and discarded all while his own children were being weaponized against him. I’ve seen him in fear. I’ve seen him cry. I’ve seen him fall to his knees, questioning everything. I’ve seen him hold onto hope when everything around him felt hopeless. I’ve witnessed his life fall apart, and then slowly, piece by piece, come back together again through healing... and through writing. I’ve seen him rise from the ashes of heartbreak, betrayal, and loss, not just once, but again and again.
And through it all... he chose love.
He chose healing.
He chose peace and purpose.
And now? He holds that space for others to do the same. Carl doesn’t just talk about healing. He lives it. He breathes it. He embodies it. And he brings it to others with such passion. His work is heart-led, soul-driven, and grounded in authenticity, integrity, care, and kindness.
When Carl supports you, it’s never half-hearted. He sees your potential, often before you do, and he holds that vision with you until you’re ready to rise into it. He’s been doing this work quietly for a long time. Encouraging others. Believing in them. And never letting go of the bigger vision. And I can tell you from personal experience: If Carl thinks you’ve got a book in you, he will not let that go.
What Carl is building and creating is something I deeply believe in. It’s rooted in purpose. It’s rooted in truth. It’s rooted in healing. And it’s so needed, especially in a world that so often overlooks the power of the subconscious mind, the nervous system, and the stories we carry within. And Carl? He’s out here shining a light on all of that, right now.

"Carl, I want to take a moment to acknowledge you — not just as a writer, but as a coach, a mentor, and someone who deeply understands the power of storytelling. In your work, you’ve masterfully shown how the written word can become a source of healing, a tool for personal growth, and a pathway to reclaiming our lives after hardship. What I admire most about your approach is your ability to speak from the heart. You don’t just write for the sake of writing; you write because you believe, with every fibre of your being, that storytelling can help us heal. That it can help us connect with ourselves, our experiences, and ultimately, with others. Your words have this way of cutting through the noise and reaching into the heart of the reader, offering solace and hope in ways that are profound yet gentle. When I first came across your work, Carl, it was clear to me that you didn’t just have a passion for writing — you had a passion for healing through writing. And that, to me, is what makes your book so impactful. It’s not just a collection of words; it’s an invitation. An invitation for each of us to reflect, to heal, and to grow. The Power of the Written Word – Your Power to Heal through Writing isn’t just for those who have faced trauma or pain. It’s for anyone looking to connect with their true selves, to rediscover their inner strength, and to transform their lives. What Carl does so beautifully in this book is create a space for us to process, understand, and ultimately rewrite our stories."
